    In plain English

    We store no personal data about you. There is no account, no login, no newsletter and no email capture, and you never need to give us anything to read a guide, use a tool or download a template. We set no cookies and run no third-party trackers.

    Because we hold no personal data, there is no data controller registration to make and no profile of you to build, sell or share. This policy explains exactly what that means.

    1. Our analytics count visits, not people

    We use Kiln Analytics, our own first-party, cookieless software. It is a privacy-first replacement for tools like Google Analytics, and it honours Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control (if your browser sends either, it records nothing).

    Exactly what it records:

    • The page visited (the path, for example /guide/mees-commercial)
    • The referring site's host only (for example chatgpt.com), never the full link and never your search terms
    • Whether a file was downloaded or a tool was used (the file or tool name)
    • The date and time

    What it never does:

    • No cookies and nothing saved on your device by the analytics
    • No IP address stored (every request shows an IP to whatever serves the page; we do not record or keep it)
    • No visitor ID, device ID or fingerprint, so it cannot follow you across pages or visits
    • It never sees or stores anything you type, including names or email addresses

    The totals are stored in our own database (hosted by Supabase, EU region). Nothing is sent to a third party.

    2. Anything you type stays on your device

    Calculators and tools run entirely in your browser. No figures you enter are transmitted to our servers. Some features use your browser's localStorage to remember things on your device only:

    • Tool inputs and results, so you do not lose them
    • Saved guides and reading progress

    These are not cookies and never leave your browser. You can clear them any time via your browser settings.

    3. If you email us

    The only time we hold any personal detail is when you email us directly, for example a sponsor enquiry or a correction. We use your message to reply and nothing else. We never add you to a list, share it or reuse it.

    4. Sponsorship involves no data

    Sponsor logos are placed by page topic, not by tracking you. There are no cookies, no profiles and no programmatic ads. Sponsors pay for placement, not for access to data, because there is no personal data to give them.

    5. Your rights and complaints

    Because we hold no personal data about you, there is little to exercise rights over. If you have any concern, email hello@kilnguides.co.uk and we will help. You can also contact the ICO at ico.org.uk.

    6. Changes

    We may update this policy; the date above will change. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
